Re: [Titanaircraft] Titan Purchase

Hello, Don.  The Titan I comes standard with the 20' wing.  It is shorter in overall length than most 2 place Titans and is, therefore shorter coupled on rudder control.  You should have no problems in flying a single and you could probably get in either and fly it right now.  A 172's approach and landing speeds are virtually the same as any Tornado and the high wing, mostly behind you, provides superb visibility. The 172 will float forever in ground effect if you're a little fast on landing but a Tornado won't.  I have a single and got right in and flew it after I completed building it.  Never had flown a Tornado before but I had a RANS S-14 before that, which is quite similar. A check ride in a two place would be a good idea and I think you will find handling will come fairly naturally unless you haven't flown anything for quite awhile.

I too am interested in buying a Titan.  What is the difference in the handling characteristics of a Titan 1 and the 2?  And, if I get some training in a 2 place would it be difficult to transition to the single?  Thanks for any info you can give me.  I have about 120 hrs. in 172's, Cherokees, and a few hrs. in a Socata TB9.
