Re: [Titanaircraft] Buying a used Titan Tornado ll airplane

Hello, Dale.  You won't go wrong with either the 912 or the Jab 2200.  They are both fine engines.  Since I fly with the Jab, here are a few advantages that I see with this engine, IMHO.

It's lighter than the 912.
It has fewer moving parts, i.e. no reduction drive (which needs periodic overhaul).
Oil cooler not necessary where you are.
No radiator to mess with.
Single carburator so you don't have to balance them.
Oil changes are a snap.
Cabin/carb heat easily set up with a heat muff and scat tubes.
A lot less plumbing than the 912. (another weight advantage)
If an engine can be called "pretty" the Jabiru is it!

I,m new to this group.
I,m looking to buy a used Titan Tornado ll.
I will want a four stroke engine in the plane.
What are the advantages of the Rotax 912 vs the Jabiru 2200?
Is their any obvious problems that accrue with this airplane?
also is there anyone around Minneapolis, MN area That would be willing to give me a ride to see what the plane is like?
Thanks
Dale
