Re: [Titanaircraft] Re: Any Tornado S or SS for sale in US or Canada

lThere are some people on this group that are getting some real good performance out the the hirth 3203 65hp.  All about 200 to three hundred hours now.

I will Google. It's my find-it toy.

What are the other engines are you using? My friends and I are always looking for an alternate for the 503. Hirth seems to be prone to breakage, and MZ is still pretty new, although their hp's look good. I spec'd out Simonin, and found it would take about 7450 Euro's ($11K, American), will get you 102 or 110hp, at about 6200rpm, but it is watercooled, and I like aircooled.

Kess,

I used to use CUA101 when it was available. It was repackaged Optimol 100:1 marketed especially for ultralight pilots. Optimol is still available through some mower shops. You may have to Google it to find a supplier.

At work we use Amsoil Saber 100:1. We don't run Rotax engines, but we fly many hours without problems on another brand 2 cycle engine.

Thanks Guy,

What brand do you use? I saw a premium 2-stroke oil available through a propellor supplier, but didn't notice the ratio.
I like the idea of a clean engine.

Try running a good 100:1 oil and premix it 100:1. I did that for a long time- less oil to buy, clean engine.

The oil injection helps with the carbon buildup as it reduces the oil to about 70:1 at idle. With premix you have 50:1 all the time so the engine will coke up a little faster.
