Re: [Titanaircraft] Jabiru 3300 on a Titan 1

Kess,

The diameter of the fiberglass gear legs would be my first concern if not replaced with Titanium. It would also need a 150VNE wing and wing mounts, and you'd want .090 windows so they don't push in or oil-can in flight. While the 3300 on the single place Tornado would be an absolute ball to fly at greater than 2000 FPM climb, it would also push it beyond the 150 VNE if not careful.

Hey gang,

Has anyone put a Jabiru 3300 on a Titan 1?? My hangar mate wants to dump his 503 and put on the big Jabiru. Is that too much engine for the Titan 1, or is too much never an issue. He can't stand flying at my speed, and wants to leave me in the dust. He could do that with the Jabiru 2200, but he wants that 2950fpm climb that I've heard about.
Wa-da-ya-think??

Kess
