RE: [Titanaircraft] Yep! Im a newbie...Subaru EA81

The Soob has 96hp at what RPM? One of my customers put one on his S,
and it was way too heavy with not enough power. The dyno graph showed
something like 80hp, but that was at 6500 rpms. With a direct dirve, I
couldn't even get it to lift off, and could barely get the nosewheel off the
ground. Max RPM was around 4500, and the graph showed it around 50hp. No
wonder it wouldn't fly.
He later put on a reduction drive (adding a few more grand and a bunch
more weight) and got it to fly. It was way slower than my 912S-powered SS,
and his rear seat capacity was 0 with full fuel. Pass on the Subaru.

Planeman,

Thanks for the quick response. Some of the research that I have done has
shown that the EA81 weighs in at 186. The Jabiru 3300, which is recommended
by Titan, weighs in at 180 and can be modified to the power output of the
3300. Currently it has an output of about 96 h.p.. I would think that it
would be comparable. What are your thoughts?

With out a long dissertation ,let me tell you it
is much too heavy to be used efficiently, this
leaves room for one to fly with it .
