As I mentioned, the electric prop drive gearbox failed in coarse, and I bought a ground adjust conversion so I could keep flying, while I had the electric drive rebuilt. Now I see 100mph at 5700-5800rpm, and have been checked along side of a Cessna 150, as well as my Hangar mate's Titan 1. My climb now is about 1000' fpm at 70mph, here on the coast at sea level, and my flat out speed at 6600-6700 rpm, seems to be 115mph now, with my last adjustment. I also have the + blades that have a lot of bite and turn slower with the 3:1 'C' box, than my buddies 2-blade, 60" Ivo and 2:62 on his Titan 1, with a 503. I climb faster, but our 100mph fast cruise, ands and wide-open 115mph speeds are side by side. One thing that I'm learning is that lb per hp is a big thing. I'm at 696-700lb gross and 52hp, for about 13.5lbs per hp. My goal is 10lbs per hp or better, that's when the real fun starts!

Yep, that sounds like about the best you can do already so I wouldn't spend any more money trying other props that probably aren't going to give you any improvement.

Just for data purposes:

I had a 503 equipped trike for about 4 years (an AC fun racer) and the fastest prop I tried on it was the IVO ultralight in 66" 2-blade (I had the 2.58:1 B gearbox). It would almost achieve Vne in level flight at full power. The wing's Vne was 90mph, the time I tried WOT/level flight my bravery stopped at 80mph with the bar only a few inches from my chest. I still had a little more to go with the engine still turning only about 6400 rpm at that time.

I did end up putting a powerfin on it (66" 2 blade F model) because it climbed better than the IVO and weighed less, but again it didn't have the speed range of the IVO.

On my Kolb, which had the 3.47:1 C box on it, I ran a 68" WD 3 blade taper tip. That was just about the ideal combo for that plane/motor/GB.

The PF I have on my titan is an F model 70" 3 blade. At its current setting of about 13.5 degrees of pitch, I get around 1000fpm climb at density altitudes of 8000-8500MSL, which is slightly better than the IVO I had on it (66" 3 blade medium). But at cruise that yeilds about 82-85mph indicated. That goes up of course if I add pitch, but then it lugs the motor at lower speeds.

Until my electic drive quit on the Ivo, and I converted it back to ground adjustable, I thought that it was the best thing going, but I found myself not using the coarse setting very much without bogging the R-503 and a 68" 3-blade on a 'C' 3:1 gearbox. Now I have trimmed my prop down to 66" as per Ivo tech rep.

I originally replaced it with a Warp Drive, which had spectacular high-speed performance, but it also had a bad harmonic that I was never able to successfully treat. In the interest of long-term safety I had to pull it and I replaced it with the PF.

I've used them for years and I think they're my favorite prop of all - the engines/gearboxes love them because they're so light and they push like all get out.
