Re: [Titanaircraft] Re: weldment cracking that holds rudder shaft into boom tube

Yep. Many don't know to add a flex agent in the paint when applying it to fabric.

take care,

I stripped the paint off with sand paper, I really can not tell if it is cracked or not. On the safe side I have someone coming out to tig weld it tomorrow. My luck however when removing the sabilator tonight by myself I bumped the flap and cracked the paint on the fabric part, about a 1-1/2 inch by 1/2 inch section now has spyder crack in the paint. Now I can figure out how to fix that, I guess paint does not flex as far as the fabric.

This is the tube that the rudder shaft goes into the boom tube from which the rudder cables and arm attach to. Not sure how else to explain it, but it appears my paint has a hair line crack half way around the edge of the weld weld bead on the end of the boom tube side. I have no idea how to prove if this is cosmetic or if the weld is tearing from the top of the boom tube, nor do I have any idea to repair such a thing.
