RE: [Titanaircraft] Re: SLSA for IFR?

The CTLS I flew was fully IFR equipped. Like you, I'd have to get my medical
renewed to fly it IFR, but I'd have no problem with it at all. I found it
very stable. A little tough to learn to land well, though. The sight picture
out of the cockpit is a little hinkey close to the ground, or on the ground.

I think it would depend on the plane. Dale .. don't you find
the Sonex to be extremely stable? I sure do. While I couldn't legally be IFR
in mine unless it was equipped for it and I
renewed my medical .. I wouldn't have an issue with it. A wing
leveler would be nice though to reduce the work load. But if I
got in a pickle and needed to do an approach with it the way
it is with just the 396 I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.
When I had my Grumman Tiger .. it had an IFR GPS (300XL) and autopilot and
also a 196. The 196 really helped situational awareness on approaches. I did
on occasion practice with just the 196 under the hood using the instrument
panel page. Very doable.
