Re: [Titanaircraft] Doors off

Div,

I've seen a hole cut in the windows to fit a long camera lens through. You might get away with the back door off, but I wouldn't want to be the one to test fly it. You run the risk of turbulence affecting the veritical tail performance.

I also wanted to ask this question, but only the back door?

Kimberly you know I've got the back door that open to the under side of the
wing.

I can remove that door and the front door will be secure and locked with no
danger of

opening in flight. I want to take photos from the back without that door.
Obviously will I keep the speed

as low as possible. Will this be OK?

Regards

Div

No -- and never attempt it. Why would you want to take the doors off on a
Titan anyway? If you want to be out in the breeze, it's not the airplane for
you.

Has anyone flown a Titan (2, or 2S) with the doors off? I know it would
increase drag a great deal and thereby cause a deterioration in performance.
I hear so many pilots of many different planes speak of missing the more
open feel of planes like the Challenger. Trying to decide on best fit for
myself.
