[Titanaircraft] Re: Which Prop for a Titan II S with a Jabiru 2200?

I like the Warp Drive the best for that combo, Tom. Kimberly and I have worked with Warp to develop a good combination of diameter and taper that works very well with the Jabiru 2200/Tornado.

Why?

1. Ground adjustable pitch - I like adjustable pitch vs the fixed pitch props as there are so many variables on what pitch works best for your combo. With the Warp you can add or subtract pitch as the engine ages and power naturally goes down a bit, or when flying at higher or lower altitude than normal, or when going cross country and that extra bit of pitch will pick you up 2-3 mph.

2. Durability of Carbon - We had a customer who had a rock go through his Warp/3300 on takeoff and didn't know it. We flew 150 miles to our breakfast destination and then found a Quarter-sized chunk out of one blade leading edge on the preflight to return home. A little super glue and some microballons and he was back in the air in about 30 minutes. After arriving home, he sent the blade back to Warp for repair. We have a Senenich in our living room that did not survive a similar strike on a 3300, it lost a good 18" of the blade and forced a landing. No comparison in my book.

3. Humidity - No issues with carbon fiber absorbing moisture like a wood prop, and you can leave it pointed in any direction you want when storing.

4. Quieter - While I'm not going to kid you into thinking that ANY two-blade prop on a pusher like a Tornado is quiet, the Warp is a few deciblel less than the Sensenich.

I hope that helps Tom. Feel free to call us at 801-255-3306 if you would like to talk more about the 2200/Tornado combo.
