Re: [Titanaircraft] Re: Which Prop for a Titan II S with a Jabiru 2200?

Tom,

That's Rotax that didn't like the inertial mass messing with the gearbox and
slipper clutch. Last I heard, the were worried about it contributing to rapid
clutch and gear wear.

I'm not sure where people get the idea that a Warp drive prop is lead slug of a
prop, it just isn't. I just walked into the shop and weighed both a Sensenich
2-blade wood with a chunk missing, and the three-blade Warp for the 3300.
At 6 lbs., the Sensenich is only 33% lighter than the 9 lb Warp three blade.
Not bad for adding 50% more blades. On the 2200 with the two-blade Warp,
the difference is much smaller.

Kimberly, I was under the impression that Jabiru did not recommend unsing warp drive props due to the direct drive and heavy weight of the prop. If I remember correctly it was causing issues with cranks.

We've had two customers that purchased aircraft with wood Sensenich props, and both came apart without warning. Jabirus turn the prop 800 RPM higher than Rotax, which is significant, and something to keep in mind. We worked with Warp Drive to customize the diameter, length and shape of the taper-tip prop to provide the best performance for Jabirus, and they work better than any other prop we've tried.
