RE: [Titanaircraft] Doors off

Kimberly,

Thank you. I understand that the wind would "blow up" the cabin, because
there is no outlet. I've still got my planes for the survey photography.
That camera will be mounted on the belly. (next phase) This back door
question was because people asked if that could be removed to have a better
informal photos taken from the back. Safety first!!

Div,

I've seen a hole cut in the windows to fit a long camera lens through. You
might get away with the back door off, but I wouldn't want to be the one to
test fly it. You run the risk of turbulence affecting the veritical tail
performance.

I also wanted to ask this question, but only the back door?

Kimberly you know I've got the back door that open to the under side of the
wing.

I can remove that door and the front door will be secure and locked with no
danger of

opening in flight. I want to take photos from the back without that door.
Obviously will I keep the speed

as low as possible. Will this be OK?

Regards

No -- and never attempt it. Why would you want to take the doors off on a
Titan anyway? If you want to be out in the breeze, it's not the airplane for
you.

Has anyone flown a Titan (2, or 2S) with the doors off? I know it would
increase drag a great deal and thereby cause a deterioration in performance.
I hear so many pilots of many different planes speak of missing the more
open feel of planes like the Challenger. Trying to decide on best fit for
myself.
