I can't quantify the speed difference with/without wheel pants because I've always had them installed. The gear leg and brake cover fairings do a lot to clean up drag though.  Round gear legs hanging in the breeze are very draggy.  You should also consider the potential for throwing something into the prop without wheel pants.  They will more than pay for themselves by preventing prop damage.

Could anyone tell me how much difference wheel pants really make on mph?
I notice some only put pants on the rear only.
What increase have you seen on your plane?
