Another thing to consider when using the water spray is that you get the white calcium buildup on the radiator, which reduces its cooling effectiveness, and the white mess it makes does't look very good. The drained off water also leaves hard water spots where it runs down the fuselage sides, and possbily runs inside the airplane if the firewall isn't sealed well. You also have to remember to fill it nearly every flight if you do a lot of waiting. Anyway, just some thoughts. You may need to consider a larger radiator. The custom radiator builders that build race car and custom car radiators build some nice units that are very effective. When I was working for Rocky Mountain Kitplanes, we ordered some custom radiators for doing 914 installations in the RANS S-7, which worked very well. It's been a few years, so I don't recall exactly which builder it was, but there are many.

Div,
an alternative solution that some guys used with a different auto engine
conversion was a windshield washer container and pump that allowed them to
squirt water on the rad which has the same affect as putting more air
through.
