More specifically, it appears that the Brake cables and rudder cables intermittently "break" ground during their travel and cause the static through the radio in the headset(no engine running). If I clip a 1' test lead on the rudder cable with the other end unconnected under the seat (acts like an antenna) and then run another test lead over another part of the cable, it causes the radio to crackle.

I have practically the identical problem, tho in my case it's coming from the nosewheel assembly. I get a very strong static on the takeoff roll until I lift the nosewheel up (also on rollout after landing when I set down the nosewheel).

I assume it's just the metal-metal contact in the assembly generating RF when it vibrates together. It's only really bad on the t/o roll so I just ignore it or turn down the radio before I put the coals to it and turn it back up once I'm off.

I do need to give it a good greasing tho which should help.

It only happens when rolling fast on the nosewheel, so I doubt it's metal-metal anywhere else...
