For what it's worth, I did a thorough inspection of my vertical stab yesterday out in the bright sunlight and didn't find any cracks. Perhaps this only affects certain planes?

One thing I always do on preflight is wiggle the vertical stab at the tip and check for any looseness or movement that could indicate that something is broken or fatigueing.

Is it possible that something might be weakening or broken in your vertical stab that could be causing cracks to form at those locations?

Just curious and wondering where this might be coming from?
