Re: [Titanaircraft] Vibration on rollout after landing

Gene, my plane does this frequently.  It's the brakes in my case.  The drums heat up very quickly and the uneven intermittant contact of the shoes against the drums causes all kinds of wobbling and shaking. Feels like the wheels are going to come off sometimes. What I've learned is to go to full flaps as soon as the nose settles and use aerodynamic braking to slow things down and stay completely off the brakes.  It's not a problem on grass as the need for brakes is minimal under those conditions. You will probably have noticed that there is little or no shaking on your takeoff roll, so the balancing effort isn't the solution.

Initial touchdown and rollout is smooth until I begin slowing down and
that's when it begins to shake/vibrate. It seems to get worse when I apply the brakes, but once it starts shaking,it won't stop even if I get off the brakes. It stops when I get below 20 mph. This past Sunday
was the most violent that I've encountered to date. I honestly thought the landing gear was going to break, or the engine was going to come
off. This is not good for any part of the aircraft. Has anyone had this problem, and if so, what was the fix.
Thanks,

Gene
