Look at my "tail stand" in my "Div" folder in the photo section. Photo
no.78.
You just need to install large inflatable tyres and have them inflated soft
to ride
over the gravel.
I push/pull on the prop at the hub with left hand and the right hand I steer
by
the top of the strake where it meets the vertical fin. This is on concrete,
but
I think the large tyres will be ok on gravel.

I've always pushed backwards by pressing down with one hand at the end
of the nose cone, about 6" back from the tip until the tailwheel lifts
and then I maneuver it on two wheels.
To push forwards, I lift by the top of the rudder until the nosewheel
contacts and use it to steer the nosewheel as I push forward.
