Correct. You never want to push on the soft part of nosecone anywhere, but you can on the tip. It is much stronger and can take quite a bit of pushing without flexing and hurting anything. But, anywhere about 5" aft of the tip of the nose to the attachment ring is 'hands off'. We have a series of cracks on our nosecone where a former Cessna-owner hangar mate pushed about 10" forward of the attachment ring a few times and oil-canned it, which left a series of cracks stemming from an area about the size of a hand.

It is my experience that pushing down on the nose cone can cause the paint to crack as the cone is relatively thin and can flex.
With that said, for pavement moving, I modified a moving dolly from Harbor Freight which works great. All you have to do is pick up the tail boom ONCE, and place it i the cradle and "presto" move it anywhere effortlessly.
