Re: [Titanaircraft] Vibration on rollout after landing

I had a problem with the 58" steel axles being bent...measure from the center of the axle back to the horizontal stabilizer for a quick check...mine were 1/2" out....Tim T.

What part seems to be the source of the vibration? If the mains, it sounds
like your tires are out of balance or the gear legs are not aligned
properly. If the nose wheel, do you have wheel pants? If not, is the nose
fork sloppy at all? How fast are you touching down? When landing, I like
to set down on the mains and balance with the nose a foot off the ground
until with the stick all the way back the nose settles down on its own.
That's usually about 30mph or less. What type of brakes and legs?

Initial touchdown and rollout is smooth until I begin slowing down and
that's when it begins to shake/vibrate. It seems to get worse when I apply
the brakes, but once it starts shaking,it won't stop even if I get off the
brakes. It stops when I get below 20 mph. This past Sunday
was the most violent that I've encountered to date. I honestly thought the
landing gear was going to break, or the engine was going to come
off. This is not good for any part of the aircraft. Has anyone had this
problem, and if so, what was the fix.
Thanks,

Gene
